Consultation for Skin Boosters & Polynucleotides

Clinician-led assessment for skin quality, hydration and rejuvenation, with injectable treatment options considered around your skin, medical history and individual goals.

Skin boosters and polynucleotides are used differently from traditional dermal fillers. Rather than primarily adding facial volume or changing contours, they are selected to support skin quality in areas where hydration, texture or overall condition may be the main concern.

UNDERSTANDING YOUR OPTIONS

A considered approach to skin quality

Skin boosters and polynucleotides are injectable treatments designed to support the appearance and quality of the skin rather than create significant facial volume.

Skin boosters commonly focus on hydration and skin quality, while polynucleotide treatments are used as part of a regenerative approach to areas where texture, elasticity or general skin condition may be a concern.

Different products have different characteristics, treatment protocols and intended areas. This means the most appropriate option depends on your skin, the area being treated and what you would realistically like to improve.

At Esti-Med, the aim is not to choose a treatment because it is fashionable or widely advertised. The treatment should have a clear purpose and fit within an appropriate plan for your skin.

What may it help with?

Skin boosters and polynucleotides may be considered where the main goal is to improve skin quality rather than add structural volume.

  • Dry or dehydrated-looking skin
  • Dull or tired-looking skin
  • Fine lines and crepey texture
  • Reduced skin elasticity
  • Skin quality around the eye area

The most appropriate treatment depends on the area being considered, your skin condition and the type of improvement you would like to achieve.

GOOD TREATMENT BEGINS WITH GOOD JUDGEMENT

Is this right for you?

Skin boosters and polynucleotides may be suitable if your priority is improving skin quality, hydration or texture rather than creating additional facial volume.

Suitability varies between individuals. Katrina will consider your medical history, current skin condition, treatment area, previous aesthetic treatment and expectations before recommending an option.

There may be circumstances where treatment should be postponed or where another approach, such as microneedling, RF microneedling or a different skin treatment, may be more appropriate.

Your consultation

Your consultation gives you the opportunity to explain what you have noticed about your skin and what you would like to improve without needing to choose a particular injectable product beforehand.

Katrina will assess the skin, treatment area and any relevant medical or treatment history before discussing the options that may be appropriate.

If a skin booster or polynucleotide treatment is recommended, the proposed product, treatment area, expected course, realistic outcome, recovery, risks and cost will be explained before you decide whether to proceed.

What to expect

A clear explanation of your appointment, from preparation to follow-up.

01 · BEFORE YOUR VISIT

Preparing for care

You do not need to decide whether you require a skin booster or polynucleotide treatment before attending. Start with the changes you have noticed in your skin and what you would like to improve.

Please provide an accurate medical history and details of any medication, supplements, allergies and previous aesthetic or skin treatments. Let us know if your health or medication has changed since booking.

02 · DURING YOUR APPOINTMENT

Your appointment

Katrina will assess your skin, the area being considered and your treatment goals before confirming whether treatment is appropriate and which option may be most suitable.

If treatment is recommended, small amounts of product are placed into the skin according to the treatment plan and the area being treated.

The treatment approach, expected outcome and whether a single treatment or planned course is appropriate will be discussed with you before proceeding.

03 · AFTER YOUR VISIT

Support afterwards

Temporary redness, small raised areas, swelling, tenderness or bruising can occur around the injection sites immediately after treatment.

You will receive clear aftercare guidance and information about how the skin is expected to settle. Where a course is recommended, the timing of subsequent treatments will be discussed as part of your plan.

If you have any concerns following treatment, Esti-Med should be your first point of contact.

Recovery & aftercare

Redness, tenderness, swelling, small raised areas or bruising can occur after treatment. These effects are usually temporary, although the appearance and recovery time can vary according to the area treated, the product used and your individual response.

You will be given specific aftercare advice following your appointment. This may include avoiding unnecessary touching or pressure on the treated area, strenuous exercise, excessive heat and certain skin or facial treatments for a short period.

Skin-quality treatments should not normally be judged immediately. Any temporary injection-site effects need time to settle, and improvement may develop progressively according to the treatment used and the treatment plan recommended.

If anything feels unusual or you are concerned about your recovery, contact Esti-Med for advice.

Risks & considerations

Skin boosters and polynucleotide treatments are injectable procedures and can cause temporary redness, swelling, tenderness, bruising or small raised areas around the injection sites.

Less common effects may include prolonged swelling, irritation, infection, inflammatory reactions or an unwanted response in the treated area. Individual products may also have specific contraindications or considerations that need to be discussed before treatment.

The appropriate product, treatment area and technique depend on your medical history, skin and individual suitability. This is why Esti-Med assesses the patient first rather than treating skin boosters and polynucleotides as interchangeable products.

The risks and considerations relevant to the treatment recommended for you will be explained as part of the consultation and consent process.

Treatment options & pricing

Your consultation helps establish which option may be appropriate for your skin and treatment goals. The following prices provide a guide.

Treatment Price
Profhilo £200
Sunekos – Eyes £150
Sunekos – Face £180
Sunekos – Neck £180
Polynucleotides – Eyes £150
Polynucleotides – Face £180
Polynucleotides – Neck £180
Lumi Eyes £140

The treatment recommended, number of sessions and final cost will depend on the area being treated and your individual treatment plan.

You can add the option you are interested in to the Notes field when booking, but you do not need to decide which treatment is right for you before your assessment.

Your questions, answered

They are different injectable treatment types with different formulations and treatment purposes. Skin boosters commonly focus on hydration and overall skin quality, while polynucleotides are used as part of a regenerative skin-quality approach. Katrina can explain which, if either, is appropriate for your concern.

They are generally selected to improve skin quality rather than create the structural volume associated with traditional dermal fillers. The effect depends on the particular treatment being used.

This varies according to the product, area being treated and your individual skin. Some treatments are recommended as a course, while others may follow a different treatment schedule. Your plan will be explained following assessment.

Certain products may be considered for the skin around the eyes. The area requires appropriate assessment because not every treatment or product is suitable for every patient.

Small raised areas can sometimes be visible at injection sites immediately following treatment. How quickly these settle depends on the treatment used and your individual response.

Changes vary according to the treatment and individual response. Skin-quality treatments may develop progressively rather than producing an immediate finished result.

Potentially. Treatments such as microneedling, RF microneedling or other skin procedures may form part of a wider treatment plan, but appropriate timing and suitability should be assessed first.

You do not need to choose a particular product before your appointment. If you are unsure, book the Skin Boosters & Polynucleotides appointment and discuss your concerns with Katrina during your assessment.

Care built around you

With a growing number of injectable skin treatments available, choosing between them can sometimes be more confusing than choosing whether to have treatment at all.

As a Registered Nurse and Independent Nurse Prescriber, Katrina approaches skin treatment through assessment rather than simply recommending a particular product. Your medical history, skin condition, treatment area and goals are considered before deciding whether an injectable skin treatment is appropriate.

Where treatment is recommended, the aim is to choose an option that has a clear purpose within your treatment plan rather than using more products or procedures than your skin needs.

Refine. Restore. Rejuvenate.
