UNDERSTANDING YOUR OPTIONS
A considered approach to lip enhancement
Lip enhancement uses dermal filler to add or restore volume, improve definition and support the natural shape of the lips.
The aim does not have to be noticeably larger lips. For some people, treatment may be about restoring volume that has reduced over time, improving definition around the lip border or creating a little more balance between the upper and lower lip.
At Esti-Med, treatment is planned around your existing features rather than following a particular trend or standard lip shape. The amount and placement of filler should reflect your anatomy, proportions and the result you would like to achieve.
Natural-looking results depend as much on restraint and judgement as they do on the filler itself.
What may it help with?
Lip enhancement may be considered for people who would like to restore volume, improve definition or create better balance while keeping the result in proportion with their natural features.
- Reduced lip volume
- Lip shape and definition
- Uneven or asymmetrical appearance
- Balance between the upper and lower lip
- Age-related loss of lip definition
The most appropriate approach depends on your natural lip anatomy, facial proportions and what you would realistically like to achieve.
GOOD TREATMENT BEGINS WITH GOOD JUDGEMENT
Is this right for you?
Lip enhancement may be suitable if you would like to restore volume, improve definition or make a subtle change to the shape or balance of your lips.
Suitability is individual. Katrina will consider your medical history, previous filler treatment, lip and facial anatomy, current skin condition and expectations before recommending treatment.
There may be occasions when treatment should be postponed, when another approach would be more appropriate or when Katrina advises against treatment altogether.
Your consultation
Your consultation is an opportunity to explain what you have noticed and what you would like to change without needing to decide beforehand how much filler you need.
Katrina will assess your lip shape, symmetry, proportions and the relationship between your lips and the surrounding facial features. Previous aesthetic treatment, relevant medication and medical history will also be discussed.
If treatment is appropriate, the proposed approach, realistic outcome, risks, recovery and cost will be explained before you decide whether to proceed.
What to expect
A clear explanation of your appointment, from preparation to follow-up.
01 · BEFORE YOUR VISIT
Preparing for care
You do not need to decide on a particular lip shape or amount of filler before attending. It is more useful to think about what you would like to improve and whether you are looking for subtle restoration, greater definition or additional volume.
Please provide an accurate medical history and let us know about any medication, supplements, previous lip filler or previous reactions to injectable treatment.
02 · DURING YOUR APPOINTMENT
Your appointment
Your assessment and treatment
Katrina will assess your lips and surrounding facial proportions before confirming the treatment plan.
If treatment is suitable, filler is placed carefully according to your anatomy and the agreed aim. The amount and placement are determined by what is appropriate for you rather than automatically using a fixed amount or following a standard technique.
You will be able to discuss the planned result and ask questions before treatment begins.
03 · AFTER YOUR VISIT
Support afterwards
Some swelling, tenderness or bruising is expected following lip filler treatment, and the lips can initially appear fuller or less even while swelling settles.
You will receive clear aftercare advice and information about what to expect over the following days. Where appropriate, a review can be arranged once the lips have had sufficient time to settle.
If you are concerned about anything following treatment, Esti-Med should be your first point of contact.
Recovery & aftercare
Swelling, tenderness and bruising can occur after lip enhancement and are often most noticeable during the early stages of recovery. The lips may initially look fuller than the intended final result, and temporary unevenness can occur while swelling settles.
You will be given individual aftercare advice following treatment. This may include avoiding unnecessary pressure or rubbing of the lips, strenuous exercise, excessive heat and certain facial or beauty treatments for a short period.
It is important to allow the lips time to settle before judging the final result. If you notice anything unexpected or are concerned about how the area is recovering, contact Esti-Med for advice.
Aftercare instructions given directly to you should always take priority over general website guidance.
Risks & considerations
Lip enhancement is a medical aesthetic procedure and can cause temporary effects such as swelling, tenderness, bruising, redness or unevenness while the area settles.
Less common complications can include lumps, prolonged swelling, infection, inflammatory reactions, asymmetry or an unwanted aesthetic result. Previous cold sores may also be relevant and should be discussed during your consultation.
A rare but important complication can occur if filler affects the blood supply to surrounding tissue. This requires prompt recognition and management, which is why careful assessment, appropriate technique and access to clinical support are important.
The risks relevant to you will be discussed before treatment so that you can make an informed decision about whether to proceed.
Treatment options & pricing
Your consultation helps establish what approach may be appropriate for you. The following prices provide a guide.
| Treatment | Price |
|---|---|
| Lip Enhancement | From £120 |
| Lip Enhancement – 1 ml | £150 |
The final treatment plan and price will be confirmed following assessment. The amount of filler used should be based on your anatomy and treatment goals rather than simply choosing a volume in advance.
Your questions, answered

CLINICALLY LED. PERSONALLY DELIVERED.
Care built around you
Lip enhancement is not simply about adding volume. The quality of the result depends on understanding the anatomy of the lips, facial proportions, appropriate product placement and knowing when a more conservative approach is the better one.
As a Registered Nurse and Independent Nurse Prescriber, Katrina brings clinical assessment and professional accountability into the treatment process. Your medical history, previous treatment, anatomy and expectations are considered before treatment is recommended.
The aim is to create a result that feels appropriate for you rather than reproducing a fashionable lip shape.
Refine. Restore. Rejuvenate.
