A considered approach to lines and wrinkles
Lines and wrinkles are a normal part of facial movement and ageing. For some people, they become more noticeable over time or begin to remain visible even when the face is at rest.
Treatment should not simply be about removing every line. At Esti-Med, the aim is to understand your facial movement, proportions, skin quality and personal preferences before discussing whether treatment may be appropriate.
Kasia will consider the areas that concern you alongside your medical history, previous treatments and expectations. Where appropriate, she can then explain the options available and what you can realistically expect from them.
The objective is a refreshed, natural-looking result that still looks like you — not a frozen or over-treated appearance.
What may it help with?
A consultation may be helpful if you are concerned about:
- Frown lines between the eyebrows
- Horizontal forehead lines
- Lines around the outer eye area

Sometimes the most appropriate advice may be to choose a different treatment, wait, or not treat at all.

Your consultation
Your consultation includes a review of the areas that concern you, your medical history, previous aesthetic treatments and any medicines or health factors relevant to treatment.
Katrinawill assess your facial anatomy and pattern of movement, discuss the result you would like to achieve and explain whether treatment may be appropriate.
Where a prescription treatment is being considered, prescribing and clinical suitability form part of the assessment. Treatment is only recommended where it is considered appropriate for you.
You will have time to ask questions and understand the expected outcome, limitations, possible side effects and aftercare before deciding whether to proceed.

01 · BEFORE YOUR VISIT
Preparing for your consultation
You do not need to decide which treatment or number of areas you require before attending. Start with what you have noticed and what you would like to understand or improve.
Please provide an accurate medical history and details of any medication or supplements you take. If your health or medication has changed since booking, let us know before your appointment.
02 · DURING YOUR APPOINTMENT
Your assessment
Katrina will assess your facial movement, anatomy and the areas that concern you before discussing the options that may be appropriate.
If treatment is recommended, the proposed approach, expected outcome, potential side effects and aftercare will be explained before you decide whether to proceed.
Where an injectable treatment forms part of the agreed plan, treatment is tailored to your individual anatomy and pattern of facial movement rather than simply treating a predetermined number of areas.
03 · AFTER YOUR VISIT
Support afterwards
You will receive clear aftercare guidance following treatment, including information about what to expect and when to contact the clinic if you have any concerns.
Changes following treatment are not immediate and develop over time. Where appropriate, a review can be arranged once sufficient time has passed to assess the outcome properly.
Recovery & aftercare
Most people are able to return to their normal routine soon after treatment, although some temporary redness, swelling, tenderness or small areas of bruising can occur around the injection sites.
You will be given clear aftercare advice following your appointment. This may include avoiding unnecessary pressure or rubbing of the treated areas for a period of time and being mindful of activities that could increase swelling or bruising immediately afterwards.
The treatment does not take effect straight away. Changes usually develop gradually, so it is important to allow time for the treatment to settle before judging the result.
Where appropriate, a review may be recommended so that the outcome can be assessed once the treatment has had time to take effect.
If you experience anything unexpected following treatment, Esti-Med should be your first point of contact so that Kasia can advise you appropriately.
Aftercare is part of the treatment, not an afterthought.
Risks & considerations
Anti-wrinkle treatment is a medical procedure and, like any treatment, can have side effects.
Temporary effects around the treatment area can include redness, mild swelling, tenderness or bruising. Some people may also experience a headache or a feeling of tightness following treatment.
Less commonly, treatment can temporarily affect nearby muscles and lead to effects such as facial asymmetry or a lowered eyebrow or eyelid. Other uncommon or rare reactions are possible and will be discussed with you as part of the consultation and consent process.
This is one of the reasons Esti-Med takes a consultation-led approach. Your medical history, medications, treatment area and individual anatomy are considered before treatment is recommended.
Not every patient will be suitable for treatment, and there may be occasions when Katrina advises against proceeding.

Esti-Med is led by Katarzyna Walerysiak, a Registered Nurse and Independent Nurse Prescriber.
Katarzyna has undertaken specialist aesthetics training in anti-wrinkle treatments since 2014, with further advanced training completed in 2019. Her nursing background, prescribing qualification and continued professional development support a clinically considered approach to assessment and treatment.
